The National Vocabulary Championship Competition
The National Vocabulary Championship Competition (NVC) is a unique opportunity for students to earn money for their college education.
The Network for Games (GSN) partnered with The Princeton Review to offer the NVC to interested students who wish to earn money for college.
While students can earn a scholarship to apply towards a degree program at an accredited college or university, the goal of the NVC is to inspire students to expand their vocabulary and help them achieve better grades in school.
Students have access to free educational resources, and can compete against other students through a variety of tests and games. More than $100,000 per year is awarded via scholarships and grants.
High school students are eligible to participate in the NVC nationwide, and the program is often heavily promoted in schools and public service campaigns.
There are two ways to participate in the NVC, either by participating through a qualified high school or online. Students have the chance to win over $5,000 in scholarships, and if they qualify for the national finals can have the chance to win $40,000 towards college tuition.
