Brower Youth Awards
The Brower Youth Awards were created to honor the memory of David Brower, a renowned environmental activist and conservation campaigner.
The Earth Island Institute funds the Brower Youth Awards, which recognizes six students annually who are active in the fields of environmental and social justice advocacy and have made considerable achievements in these fields.
Students must be between the ages of 13 and 22 and reside within
In other words, students who are interested in this award must have been the main force behind implementing, creating and organizing the project.
The project must also have benefited the environment or your community in some way. This can include any number of things, including wildlife habitat restores, community beaches litter-free, etc.
In order to qualify for a Brower Youth Award, your project must fall under one of three categories: conservation, preservation or restoration.

The six students who win the Brower Youth Awards will receive $3,000 and a trip to the Bay Area with a parent or guardian for a week of activities, plus an awards ceremony where they will be recognized for their outstanding achievements.
The awards are given to not only promote leadership quality among the next generation of students and help them achieve their goals, but they will also gain access to resources, mentors and other opportunities through the Earth Island Institute’s New Leaders Initiative program.
This is an excellent opportunity for students who have achieved measurable success in the field of environmental or social justice. If you are interested in applying for a Brower Youth Award, please visit their website for further details.
