Alliance Medical Education Scholarship Fund (AMES)
If you are a second or third year medical student and a resident of Pennsylvania, you may be eligible for the Alliance Medical Education Scholarship Fund!
In addition to the above eligibility requirements, interested students must also be attending a Pennsylvania medical school full-time.
In order to apply for this scholarship opportunity, there are several things students must include with their application to be considered.
First and foremost, you must complete an application form (found on the AMES website). Your eligibility for the scholarship will be based on financial need, merit, leadership qualities, and service.
You must also include two letters of reference, both personal and academic. These letters cannot be from family members, but should be from people who know you well and can speak to your integrity and future potential as a doctor.
Thirdly, you must include a letter documenting that you are, in fact, attending a Pennsylvania medical school full-time. Please be sure to include the correct school information. If you are a recipient of one of the scholarships, the money will be disbursed directly to your school.
Finally, the student must include a one-page typed statement about how he/she plans to contribute to the future of Pennsylvania medicine.
Deadlines for these scholarships are from January 15th to March 15th of the current year the student is a 2nd or 3rd year medical student. Please ensure your application materials are postmarked no later than March 15th, or you will not be considered.
The scholarships are awarded in the amount of $2,500 and will be applied towards the student’s second semester.
Keep this scholarship in mind! If you are attending a Pennsylvania medical school full-time and are in your second or third year by January 15th of next year, you can be eligible for this scholarship opportunity.
Good luck.
